Instead, the primary differences between these three-row SUVs include the engines, drivetrains, and available tech. Under the hood of the new Wagoneer, you’ll find a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque. You’ll also have the option of two- or four-wheel drive. In contrast, the Grand Wagoneer has a 6.4-liter, 471-horsepower V8 that pulls 455 pound-feet of torque, as well as standard four-wheel drive across all trims. However, both models feature the same eight-speed automatic transmission with switchable drive modes for different terrains.
Now, let’s take a look inside. In both the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, cargo space tops out at over 70 cubic feet. Each SUV can seat either seven or eight, depending on whether you get captain’s chairs in the second row. Both Wagoneer models exhibit premium materials all throughout the cabin, but the Grand Wagoneer goes all out with American walnut accents.
What’s really impressive, though, is the amount of digital screen area. For instance, the Wagoneer boasts up to 50 inches of total touchscreen space, complete with backseat entertainment options. The new Grand Wagoneer takes it up a notch with a whopping 75 inches of digital display area, including a class-exclusive front-seat passenger touchscreen for your trusty co-pilot. Discerning audiophiles will also love these SUVs’ stereo systems. In particular, the Grand Wagoneer is the first-ever vehicle to come equipped with a McIntosh stereo—incredibly powerful with 950 watts and 23 speakers!
