Pursuit-Capable Heavy-Duty Performance
One of the most important features of the new RAM 2500 ERV is its pursuit-capable design. According to Stellantis, the Ram 2500 ERV became the first three-quarter-ton pickup to complete the Michigan State Police vehicle evaluation tests. These tests measure handling and durability under emergency driving conditions.
The truck is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine producing 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. With an eight-speed automatic transmission and optional four-wheel drive, the RAM 2500 ERV is built to deliver strong performance in a variety of environments. Stellantis reports the truck can reach 60 mph in around 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of approximately 103 mph.
Designed for Emergency Response
Beyond performance, the RAM 2500 ERV includes features specifically designed for emergency operations. Heavy-duty components, skid plate protection, and upgraded electrical systems help support lights, radios, communication equipment, and other emergency gear. The truck also includes specialized wiring systems that make it easier for departments to customize the vehicle for their specific needs.
The RAM 2500 ERV is especially useful for agencies operating in rural areas with rough terrain and extreme weather, where a traditional police SUV may not be enough. Its towing and hauling capability also make it valuable for rescue operations and equipment transport.
Part of Stellantis’ Emergency Vehicle Lineup
The RAM 2500 ERV joins other Stellantis emergency response vehicles like the Dodge Durango Pursuit. By adding a pursuit-capable heavy-duty pickup to its lineup, Stellantis is giving departments another option for situations that require both speed and utility.
